SML Yacht Varnish has a high-gloss neutral coloured finish that enhances the natural beauty of wood. Easy to use it has very good surface adhesion, high UV resistance to prevent fading and degredation, as well as very good gloss retention.  It is fast drying and flexible to give a quality and durable finish that withstands the rigour marine conditions.

Application Tips

• Surface Preparation – Ensure the wood is clean, dry, and free of any old varnish, grease, or dirt. Sand the surface to create a smooth base for the varnish.
• Primer – For best results, apply a suitable wood primer before the varnish. This helps with adhesion and durability.
• Multiple Coats – Apply several thin coats rather than one thick coat. This ensures better coverage and a smoother finish.
• Drying Time – Allow sufficient drying time between coats as recommended by the manufacturer. This can vary based on temperature and humidity.
• Final Sanding – Lightly sand between coats to ensure a smooth finish and better adhesion of subsequent layers.
